Sales Operations Manager

Job Description:

  1. Engage with customers to gather technical data on their development cycle and engineering design flow/process to understand their unique requirements to help R&D meet customer’s needs.
    1. Utilize specialized technical knowledge to provide technical insight and direction to support and improve usability, applicability, and adoption of SmartDV solutions.
    2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on customer installations; deploy and train customers on new implementations and capabilities.
    3. Review customer feedback on product performance to implement the technical roadmap, specifications, and validation for improvements and enhancements.
  2. Manage International relations with SmartDV’s global distributors and sales representatives by performing as a subject matter expert by addressing all technical questions and challenges
    1. Provide technical training/presentations, from time to time, on new products and services involving Verification IPs – Simulation, Emulation, and Formal Verification, Design IPs, Processor Solutions, and other services to enable familiarity with the product protocols and market potential in their respective regions.
    2. Support distributors with specialized technical documentation and technical inquiries for all customer requirements.
  3. Create and manage sales support systems/processes required to meet the rapid growth of the global business in the IP/EDA product ecosystem.
    1. Partner with customer technical Principals and the Sales organization to identify business challenges, develop effective and custom technical solutions for new accounts, and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts.
    2. Provide initial technical screening for new sales leads before distribution to regional sales team. Track leads through the entire sales cycle from initial contact through proposal generation. Develop KPIs (Key Performance Indictors) and metrics, proactively review and identify lead and lag indicators.
  4. Oversee and assist with negotiating, structuring, and management of new contractual documents that establish, amend, or renew business relationships with customers, distributors and/or partners.
    1. Work with legal counsel and internal resources to resolve contract issues.
    2. Review all customer’s Statements of Work and/or proposals before submission to the customer to ensure adherence to standards and provide feedback to help close business sales.
  5. Support the marketing team in developing marketing collateral with key insights on technical and specialized product features to maintain a competitive advantage in the semiconductor industry.
    1. Support and participate in all the company’s annual planning activities and trade shows via on-site or remote technical interactions with demos, clarifying technical questions, and addressing competitive challenges.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering or a closely related field. Foreign degree equivalent acceptable.
  2. Skills in FPGA/ASIC usage and applications.
  3. Understanding of logic circuits, FPGA architecture, and FPGA interconnects routing procedures.
  4. Knowledge of embedded system and ARM processors.

Your Impact
As SmartDV NA expands our customer base, we will rely on an enthusiastic, highly motivated, deeply experienced, and customer-focused sales professionals to drive sales growth, team growth, and customer engagements, as well as act as trusted advisers for our products.

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing & Business Development, you will have responsibility for sales of our ever-expanding portfolio of more than 800 design IP and verification IP products in your assigned region. As part of a team of Sales Executives, Application Engineers, and international R&D teams, you will be a part of the regional account strategy and team and execute towards your account objectives. 

You will work independently and closely with customers to articulate SmartDV Technologies’ value proposition, uncover new opportunities, and win the trust of key stakeholders and champions in your assigned region. In addition, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the North America Sales and Application Engineering team to identify and understand customers' needs and challenges.
  • Provide compelling presentations and demonstrations to convey the benefits of our technology to prospective customers.
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline while driving market penetration, adoption, and revenue.
  • Develop individual strategies per account.
  • Track activities and provide reports to leadership on account strategies activities and progress.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser and resource for SmartDV products.
  • Drive customer engagements leading to company growth and success.
  • Work with the internal product management team to influence product development and evolution by collaborating closely with company product and design teams to understand customer needs and define products that drive customer success.
  • Empower customers to integrate SmartDV IP into their designs.
  • Manage complex sales cycles.
  • Actively prospect and build/manage an accurate opportunity pipeline.
  • Gather customer requirements, create solutions, articulate value propositions, calculate return on investment and manage complex contractual processes.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to participate in conferences and trade shows, create collateral, answer media calls for contributions, and gather details for customer success stories.
  • Proactively call out opportunities to enhance SmartDV’s business practices, bolster cross-departmental collaboration, and optimize communications (internal and external).

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 8+ years of sales experience in EDA, verification, and application engineering and with EDA tools, chip design and IP integration, particularly in the assigned territory.
  • BS/MS degree preferred.
  • Proven skills and experiences in the selling of complex solutions in complicated customer environments.
  • Proven track record of selling semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP) technology to organizations spanning small startups to large enterprises, driving complex and differentiated technology.
  • Proven history of exceeding sales revenue targets.
  • Ability to build solid relationships and attain trusted advisor level credibility with established customers.
  • Passion to develop and apply strategic selling skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor design and verification intellectual property (IP) specialization areas, including (but not limited to) digital design, RTL, and static verification, with a working knowledge of SoC integration, IP verification, etc.
  • Familiarity with analog/mixed-signal design and verification flow.

Your Impact

As SmartDV expands our customer base in the Eastern Region of the US, we’ll rely on a passionate, highly motivated, deeply technical, customer-focused Applications Engineer to be both the technical driver of pre-sales customer engagements and the trusted, post-sales adviser for our products.

  • Partner with the North America Sales team to provide technical guidance and support for pre- and post-sales accounts.

What You’ll Bring

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in EDA, verification, and application engineering and with EDA tools. Solid technical understanding of semiconductor design and verification intellectual property (IP) specialization areas, including (but not limited to) digital design, RTL, and static verification, with a working knowledge of SoC integration, IP verification, etc.
  • Familiarity with RTL (register transfer level) design and verification using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL hardware description languages.
  • Familiarity with analog/mixed-signal design and verification flow.
  • Familiarity with FPGA (field-programmable gate array) prototyping tools like Synplify Premier, Vivado, and Libero SoC Design Suite, including synthesis, P&R, and timing closure. Exposure to various FPGA devices.
  • Technical understanding of interface and connectivity protocols such as AMBA, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, MIPI, and various memory models like DDR, LPDDR, and Flash models.
  • Knowledge of protocol specifications from the various technical standards groups such as MIPI/VESA/HDMI/JEDEC.

Verification Engineer – Bangalore, India
  • 2-7+ Years of experience in ASIC verification
  • Should have tapped out atleast 1 chips from specs to post silicon debug
  • Should have experience in creating testbenches from scratch
  • Should have very good understanding of coverage driven verification closure
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog, HVL (VERA or SystemVerilog or e (Specman))
  • Very good experience in writing scripts in Perl or Python or TCL

Design Engineer – Bangalore, India
  • 2 to 7+ Years of experience in ASIC design
  • Expertise in micro-architecture, design of design blocks (IP) to system-on-chip (SoC) components
  • Experience in one/more of the following system bus interfaces like PCI Express, USB, SATA, SDIO, MIPI and /or AMBA.
  • Knowledge of SVA
  • Knowledge of memory controllers, CPU architecture is a plus
